Lisa Kudrow teases dramatic twist in Friends comeback show that's worth the wait

Friends star Lisa Kudrow has admitted that there might be some surprises in store during the upcoming Friends reunion.

The legendary actress, 56, who starred as Phoebe Buffay in the hit series, has let slip that the Friends comeback is going to be so much more than just a sit-down conversation with co-stars Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox.

Earlier this year, Friends fans went into meltdown when it was confirmed the cast would finally reunite for a one-off special.

However, plans were thrown into disarray due to the coronavirus pandemic and a rescheduled date is yet to be confirmed.

Lisa was recently quizzed over the future of Friends while she was being interviewed about her new show Space Force.

During her interview she reaffirmed the cast's commitment to Friends and promised that it will be seriously worth the wait, when bosses finally agree on a date.

“It is definitely going to happen,” she said during her press chat.

"We just keep putting dates in the calendar. When we can do it, we will do it."

Lisa added that the planning behind the reunion show was in its advanced stages when they were forced to abruptly put production on hold because of the deadly virus.

She added: “[The planning] was pretty far along, but it seemed pretty clear that if people can't gather then we can't do it.”

Much to the excitement of eager fans she also appeared to confirm that it won't just be a chat show panel, but restrained herself from giving away too many details.

“There are other things to it; things I shouldn't really talk about because they should be good – but those things can't happen [right now]," Lisa teased.

"We just decided on another date and we'll see if we can do it then.”

The Friends reunion was initially set to air on HBO Max with filming scheduled for March 23 and 24.

It forms one of many television productions that hang in the balance as the entertainment industry looks toward resuming work in a post-pandemic world.
