Lions Week 8 player of the game: Kenny Golladay

The Detroit Lions came away with a 31-26 victory over the New York Giants in Week 8 and wide receiver Kenny Golladay’s two-touchdown performance was a huge part of making that happen — and that’s why he is this week’s Lions Wire Player of the Game.

Golladay would finish the day with six receptions (eight targets) for 123 yards and two scores. But his impact was felt beyond just the box score as his catches came at critical times.

Held in check through most of the first half, Golladay only had one reception for sixteen yards. In the second half, he found ways to get open and caught passes when his number was called.

Another big third-down catch to keep a drive going late leading to his second touchdown, and a bit of trickeration from offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell:

It wasn’t a perfect day on offense for the Lions but when they needed a player to take over in the second half, Golladay was there to step up and lead the team to a much-needed victory.
