Lions Week 7 injury report: Wagner shows up on Wednesday’s walk-through

Coming off of a Monday night game, the Lions have a short week in front of them and therefore are taking it a bit slower to start the week. Instead of a typical padded Wednesday practice, the Lions are electing to do a walk-through, keeping things light for the players.

Due to the walk-through, today’s injury report is only team estimated participation levels.

Still OUT

Mike Daniels (foot) and Amani Oruwariye (knee) being listed as out for a walk-through is not an encouraging sign for their expected participation levels this week.

Missed last weeks game, limited today

At his afternoon press conference, coach Matt Patricia said Da’Shawn Hand (elbow) is truly day-to-day and they are currently working on his building up his reps and stamina, getting him more and more acquainted with the physical nature of the NFL.

Quandre Diggs (hamstring) was a game-time decision last Sunday, and with another week of recovery, he should be closer to returning this week.

Played in Week 6, new additions (limited)

Rick Wagner (knee) and Logan Thomas (shoulder) are new additions to the injury reports this week, suggesting they were dinged up in last week’s game. Estimated limited participation is a good sign for their status this week, but we will have to wait for tomorrow’s more physical practice to get a better feel for their availability moving forward.

This is a big week for Wagner as he will facing off with Viking EDGE rusher Danielle Hunter, who has 6.5 sacks against Wagner in the last two years. Although, in their most recent meeting, Wagner limited him to zero sacks or quarterback hits.

Played in Week 6, limited today

Darius Slay (hamstring) and A’Shawn Robinson (knee) were limited all of last week in practices but played their full complement of snaps in last Sunday’s game. Starting this week out as limited is not overly concerning.

Played in Week 6, full practice

Matthew Stafford (hip) is still listed on the injury report with an injury but, like last week, he is practicing in full and should be ready to go on Sunday.

Danny Amendola, who was limited with a chest injury last week and missed Week 4, is no longer listed on the injury report.

Injured reserve updates

Austin Bryant (pectoral, injured reserve) is eligible to return to practice this week, but the Lions are keeping him on the shelf, as not to activate a 21-day clock on their decision making. They are electing to wait until they have more time to properly evaluate him.

Vikings injury updates

Relatively healthy, the most significant player dealing with an injury is former Lion offensive tackle Riley Reiff.
