Lions sign free agent TE Logan Thomas

The Detroit Lions have announced the team has added tight end Logan Thomas to the roster. Thomas was a free agent after playing the last two seasons with the Buffalo Bills.

Terms were not immediately disclosed.

The 27-year-old Thomas is still transitioning to tight end after being a collegiate quarterback at Virginia Tech. He was a fourth-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals back in 2014 but played in just two games in his first three NFL seasons.

With his 6-6, 250-pound frame, Thomas makes for a large target. He caught 12 passes for 77 yards in 12 games for the Bills last season, which includes three starts.

He joins Jesse James as newcomers to the otherwise sparse tight end depth chart, which also features holdover Michael Roberts.
