Lions' LeGarrette Blount shoves 49er from sideline, ejected

Detroit Lions running back LeGarrette Blount drew a senseless personal foul penalty, coming off the sideline to push a San Francisco 49ers defender, and was ejected from the game Sunday.

Blount came to the defense of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was a ball carrier along the sideline in the fourth quarter in Santa Clara, Calif.

49ers defensive back Elijah Lee pushed Stafford out of bounds while the QB's feet were still in bounds, which seemed to be a legal play.

The play happened right in front of Blount, who seemed to disagree with the necessity of the hit. Blount walked from the sideline, approached Lee and shoved him to the ground.

The play, in which the Lions were also flagged for a hold, resulted in a 15-yard penalty after the play was over and Blount's disqualification.

While the officials were discussing the play, head coach Matt Patricia could be seen talking to Blount, who seemed upset at times during the conversation.

The play didn't deter the Lions on the drive, though, which ended with a Marvin Jones touchdown catch.
