Lionel Messi paid visit by Romeo Beckham amid links with dad David's Inter Miami

Lionel Messi and Romeo Beckham have been pictured together in Paris as the teenager visits one of his dad's former clubs.

David Beckham ended his playing days with PSG and has now gone on to co-own an MLS franchise in Miami.

Messi has been linked with an eventual move across the Atlantic despite only heading to Paris in the summer.

Inter Miami could present the Argentine with the chance to finish up his career in America should he want to do so.

Messi was snapped wearing a bold red leopard tracksuit alongside Romeo, who also took photos with Kylian Mbappe.

Neymar also offered up a signed PSG shirt for the 19-year-old, who is looking to make it as a footballer himself at Fort Lauderdale CF.

Romeo signed a professional deal with the club in September of last year.

His father is attempting to make Inter Miami a success by making the right decisions off the field.

Phil Neville, a former Manchester United teammate, was hired last year but couldn't guide the team into the play-offs.

The likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi have been signed without hitting the heights expected.

But because of Beckham's huge name and the lure of living in Florida, big names are eventually expected to join.

The 46-year-old insists the club's fans want to see them win though - regardless of who is wearing the shirt.

He told the Miami Herald : "I've always said I want the best players in our club and playing in our shirt because there's a certain expectation.

"Unfortunately, sometimes it can be a bad thing. But most of the time it's a good thing. When I first started this project, people were saying 'This guy is coming, that guy is coming, [Cristiano] Ronaldo is coming, Messi's coming.'

"At the end of the day, we need to win, whether it's with the young kids or stars.

"Our fans will be happy if we have stars on the team, but they'll be even happier if they're seeing young players coming through our academy and lifting the MLS Cup."

Messi himself said back in 2020 that he would like to end up playing in America, but is unsure if he'll get the opportunity.

“I always had the dream of being able to enjoy and have the experience of living in the United States. I want to experience what the league there is like,” he told La Sexta.

Messi signed a two-year deal in Paris with the option of a further year.
