Line Of Duty star Adrian Dunbar recalls blooper which left cast in stitches

Adrian Dunbar has revealed an outtake on the set of Line Of Duty season six which provoked laughter from the cast and crew.

The Fermanagh actor is known as the scrupulous Superintendent Ted Hastings on the show, but it's fair to say that his co-workers see him as a softie at heart.

As well as posting pictures of him cementing his new status as a sex symbol, they've also been laughing at him fluffing his lines on set.

In an interview ahead of the return of Line Of Duty, actress Vicky McClure said: "We have a laugh everyday as we either forget our lines, fluff them or say something stupid. To be honest, it usually involves Adrian Dunbar."

Dunbar himself revealed one such occasion where this occurred, saying: "Ted is put through the ringer [in season six]; particularly towards the end.

"But there have been funny moments too. In one of the interviews, I had to say ‘a bunch of racist thugs’ but I got it wrong and said ‘a bunch of racist slugs’ which got a big laugh from the crew."

Whether or not audiences will get a chance to see the mistake is a matter for the Line of Duty editing team, with Dunbar adding: "I hope that survives on a bloopers reel somewhere so we can all see it!"

Line Of Duty Season Six begins on BBC One on March 21.
