Cian Lynch arrived in Dublin on crutches ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship between Limerck and Kilkenny.
The 2021 Player of the Year was not named in John Kiely's 26-man squad for the decider after the Limerick man suffered a fresh injury blow ahead of the match.
It is understood that Lynch picked up an ankle injury in training last weekend after only making his return to action from a hamstring injury in the semi-final win over Galway.

He was seen getting off Limerick's team train at Heuston Station on crutches before making his way to Croke Park with the squad.
Both Limerick and Kilkenny named unchanged starting sides for the final, with Barry Murphy replacing Lynch on the Treaty bench.
Meanwhile, Conor Fogarty comes back into the Kilkenny panel in place of Darragh Corcaran.
