Lil Wayne delivers his hits, plus ‘Old Town Road,’ in energetic Lollapalooza set

As early as 6 p.m. Saturday, fans at Lollapalooza were rushing to the T-Mobile stage to catch Lil Wayne’s set 45 minutes later.

By the end of the set, there were people as far as the eye can see, letting loose to some of the rapper’s biggest hits.

A few attendees could even be spotted climbing lighting fixtures near the crowd to better see the performance.

Lil Wayne was full of energy, propelling himself all across every corner of the stage. Several times throughout the set, he told the audience to “make some noise for [themselves].”

The crowd was fully engaged, rapping along to hits like “Bed Rock” and “Lollipop.” Wayne even threw in a surprise performance of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” complete with modified lyrics to better suit his typical lyrical content.

The highlight of the set occurred when Wayne performed “A Milli.” Upon the first few seconds of the track, the crowd kicked into full gear, with people jumping and dancing in the packed space.

Wayne himself seemed to be having the most fun, putting energy and character into his bizarre delivery, full of long drawn-out noises and slightly unintelligible rapping.

The rapper’s enthusiasm kept until the end of the show, as well as his gratitude. “It’s a f----ed up world out there, it is a beautiful place here tonight,” Wayne said to the crowd.
