Every fall stylish sweater roundups flood the internet. As we move closer to winter, those shopping guides are updated to include heavier knits. The same can't be true for the time between spring and summer. More than likely that's due to the fact that most people delight in the idea that knits can be packed away into closets until late September. We hate to disappoint, but even summer can be labeled sweater weather with these stellar lightweight cardigans.
Obviously, material plays a part. Although in this instance, thickness is important. You can still rock a wool version if it's in the form of a paper-thin silhouette. Sheer or semi-sheer numbers serve double duty by keeping the wearer warmer while not obscuring any part of the outfit. Crochet, pointelle and perforated iterations are also on point, mainly because they allow for some strategic ventilation. Now we could have just made a complete list featuring cropped versions, but not every summer occasion permits putting a midriff on full display. Same goes for barely-there ties or buttons.
