Julie Young "saved the life" of her friend Lisa Kerr's father-in-law, Edward O'Neill when he took a seizure.
Lisa said mum-of-two Julie always goes "above and beyond" for others and has been a great support, not only to her but many others too.
Lisa told Lanarkshire Live: “I have known Julie for almost 20 years and she has always been a great support to our family and even more so recently when my father-in-law Edward O’Neill took a bad seizure.
"Thankfully, Julie was on the scene immediately. It was quite a relief to me and my family that she was so close.
“It means a lot to me and my family that she is always able to be there for my father-in-law and, because of her skills, Julie saved his life.”
Julie, 51, is a stay-at-home mum and as well as caring for her own children, Lauren and Dylan, she is always on hand to help Lisa's family whenever they need it.
And when Lisa told us about Julie, we were delighted to be able to help out, surprising her with this beautiful floral display, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.
“We are more like family but she doesn’t get appreciated enough for all the work that she does.
“And we wanted to thank her on behalf of my family for all that she does for us. I think she will be shocked and it will be a great surprise, but I think she will be grateful and there might be a few tears,” Lisa told us.
And on receipt of the flowers a delighted Julie told us: “I would like to thank Lisa for nominating me; it's a total shock, and to the Wishaw Press and Pixies Petals for the lovely flowers.”
