Liel Abada provides Celtic update after injury blow

Celtic winger Liel Abada has provided an update after it was confirmed he would miss several months of action with an injury.

The 22-year-old picked up a knock while training on international duty with Israel, which saw him miss their Euro 2024 qualifying fixtures against Romania and Belarus.

Abada was sent back to Glasgow for a scan and Brendan Rodgers has since announced he will be out of action until early next year.

However, the forward has vowed to "come back fitter and stronger".

Writing on Instagram, he said: "Unfortunately, I have just received the news that my injury will keep me out of the game for a longer period than expected.

"I am beginning rehabilitation and will work hard to come back fitter and stronger as fast I could so I can give my all to help the team achieve our targets."

When asked about Abada's injury at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Dundee, Rodgers said: "He’s gone to London today for a scan, but we think it’s going to be about three to four months.

"He picked it up at the end of training in a shooting exercise. It’s a real shame for us because he’s done well over preseason and as you can see he started a lot of the games since I’ve been here.

"We’re really disappointed but it’s a squad game for us so we will have other players to come in."
