Liam Hemsworth was reportedly prepared to offer a reconciliation with estranged wife Miley Cyrus - until she kissed Kaitlynn Carter.
The 29-year-old Hunger Games star was swaying towards finding a way to patch up his relationship with the singer.
But pictures of Miley kissing The Hills star reportedly increased pressure from Liam's 'conservative' family to bin her off for good.
Us Weekly reported that Liam's family were 'less than thrilled' with the photos appearing online and allegedly pushed for Liam to file for divorce.
The family's concern over the kiss was reportedly enough for Liam to file for divorce.
A source told the publication: "Liam comes from a very conservative family and his family was freaked out by it.”
According to E! News, the photos of Miley kissing another woman were the last straw and despite her and Liam being 'separated for a while', they were the last straw.
The source continued: "That was it for him, seeing those photos."
Despite the consternation of his family, Liam was full of praise for Miley when he officially revealed that their eight-month-old marriage was over.
He wrote on Instagram : "Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward."
