Liam Gallagher hints he could be up for a part in Peaky Blinders

Liam Gallagher could be appearing on our TV screens after sparking speculation that he was set to play a role in Peaky Blinders.

The former Oasis frontman sent fans wild with the suggestion he could be getting involved in the hit gangster drama, which is set in Birmingham in the 1920s.

Talking to fans on Twitter, the 46-year-old Mancunian rocker hinted he was set for a meeting with Peaky Blinders show bosses, Birmingham Live reports.

Liam tweeted: "Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day."

Asking the musician about his schedule, one fan replied: "Any plans today Liam?"

The rocker added: "Thought you'd never ask. Yeah, I'm off to meet a man about a part in Peaky Blinders. Why me Why not, see ya."

The last part was also a reference to Liam's second solo album Why Me? Why Not. which is set to be released on September 20, 2019.

One fan asked what his Birmingham accent was like in readiness for the show, with Liam replying: "It's biblical."

And another suggested the show should be renamed Parka Blinders, with Liam responding: "There you go and the winner is you."

Birmingham is getting ready for The Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival, a two-day event in Digbeth on September 14 and 15.

An unannounced global star has been promised for the music bill on the first day - could this be Liam?

Headlined by rockers Primal Scream on the Saturday and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes on the Sunday, there is a huge line-up.

But the sbow's lead actor Cillian Murphy (Thomas Shelby) is not attending as he is in the midst of shooting a Hollywood movie. He will, however, be appearing via a live stream and reading war poems to fans.

There will be five open-air venues and lots of indoor ones, including a museum boasting weapons, costumes and props from the series.
