Levski fire Italian coach Rossi

SOFIA (Reuters) - Levski Sofia have sacked their Italian coach Delio Rossi following an early European exit, the 26-times Bulgarian champions said on Wednesday.

The Blues, as Levski are known in the Balkan country, were knocked out by Liechtenstein's FC Vaduz in the Europa League's first qualifying round on away goals after the sides drew 3-3 on aggregate on Tuesday.

Angry Levski fans threw seats and some attempted a pitch invasion in the dying minutes of their 3-2 second-leg win at the Georgi Asparuhov stadium.

Rossi, who guided Lazio to third in Serie A in 2007, replaced Nikolay Mitov last year and led Levski to third in the Bulgarian top flight.

The 58-year-old also coached Italian clubs Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Bologna, Palermo and Genoa.
