Lettuce recall expands to 27 states as Taylor Farms races to contain cyclospora outbreak

  • Taylor Farms de Mexico is voluntarily recalling all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market due to potential contamination with Cyclospora.
  • Consumers who have purchased the recalled iceberg lettuce should immediately discard it, refrain from consumption, and can obtain full refunds at the location of purchase, the company warned in its recall notice.
  • Taylor Farms has stopped receiving product from the implicated lot, suspended distribution of iceberg lettuce from Central Mexico, and is actively collaborating with the FDA, CDC, and state authorities.
  • The affected shredded iceberg product was distributed between June 29 and July 16 across 27 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
  • The supplier clarified that no Taylor Farms-branded salads or kits are linked to the ongoing cyclosporiasis outbreak , and none of its branded salad kits contain iceberg lettuce.
