Letter: Leonard Leigh obituary

Leonard Leigh was one of my professors in the law department at the LSE in the late 1960s. Coming from a working- class background, I appreciated his gentle persuasion to join in class discussions. He would then skilfully re-formulate my point until I felt proud at how articulate I sounded, even if all credit was really his.

Thus encouraged, I went on to do a PhD and teach at the LSE. Eventually I emigrated to his birthplace of Vancouver (although I don’t recall any direct involvement of his in that decision). More than 40 years of satisfying legal practice acting for Indigenous peoples then followed.
