SRINAGAR: Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were arrested — one each in central Kashmir’s Budgam district and north Kashmir’s Bandipora district respectively — on Wednesday.
In Budgam, police while investigating a narco-terrorism module arrested Showkat Ahmed Ganie, a Chadoora resident, who was involved in distributing proceeds from the sale of narcotics to active terrorists and operatives to fund terrorism in the Kashmir Valley. He also provided logistic support to the outfit.
In Bandipora, a joint team security forces arrested a hybrid Lashkar terrorist, Mehboob ul Inam, a resident of Nadihal, at a checkpoint near Papchan. Based on his disclosure, three AK rifles, 10 magazines, 380 rounds, 2kg IED explosive substance, a Chinese grenade and other incriminating items were recovered, Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet.
