Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of Matty Cash from Nottingham Forest.
The clubs are understood to have agreed a fee of £14million for the 23-year-old.
Cash is now set to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with the Premier League club.
The versatile full-back, who can also play in midfield, has been a key player for Forest since coming through the club's youth ranks.
Now is looks like getting his chance to test himself in the top flight.
Here's what some Villa fans have been saying on Twitter about Cash and his impending arrival...
Andy Smith: As long as he’s the first of some serious quality,
Stephen Rudge: Looks a good signing. His old man was decent player for Halesowen.
Martin O'Hiarlaithe: I think it’s very risky and given how we spent over number of years and players we got in. If he cost 16m why not pay 25m to 30m for someone with proven quality at top tier football?
Daniel Gregory: Yeah really happy, quality player and will only get better.
Marc Burgess: Most people have said can we at least sign someone. So they should be happy.
Joel Hatfield: Get Watkins and Benrahma over the line too.
Chris Brant: From what Forest fans are saying etc sounds like could be pretty decent.
Matthew Mullins: Superb Signing for us, great talent and will link up well with Grealish.
Lance J Round: Decent business considering his age.
KJ Villa: For those wondering why we need another RB, let’s not forget that Cash has also played as a winger and in central midfield. Gives us lots of options - especially as a winger that might actually remember he has some defensive duties!
Lewyy: People keep saying that Matty Cash is too much but we are paying 14m plus add ons for a right back that is fast and likes to get stuck in! Nottingham forest devastated to see him go. Villa fans just need a bit of faith for once, we have a manager for a reason.
EJ: 14m for Cash is a good deal for everyone involved. The player wanted Premier League, #NFFC need money to balance the books and #AVFC have an exciting talent with lots of potential.
