Leroy Sane sends message to Man City fans after completing Bayern transfer

Leroy Sane has taken to social media to post a thank you message to Manchester City after securing a move to Bayern Munich.

The winger has brought an end to the long-running transfer saga by completing a move to the German giants.

Sane arrived in Munich on Wednesday to conduct his medical and put pen to paper on a five-year deal which will run until 2025 and see him double his money to €22m per year.

City, meanwhile, will make a profit on a player that they could have lost for nothing next summer when his contract was set to expire after rejecting a new deal.

The German champions will pay €49million up front with €11million in add-ons which takes the deal to £54.8m.

And taking to both Twitter and Instagram, Sane was quick to pay tribute to all those involved at the Etihad club.

“First of all, thank you Citizens! Thanks so much for the great time and all the support over the last 4 years,” he wrote on his social media sites.

“It has been a really intense and successful time which I surely won’t forget.

“We won many games, scored a ton of goals, broke a couple of records and celebrated 7 trophies together.

“Thanks to all the fans, to the staff and to my team-mates! I will always remember this time with great joy and pride.

“Also thanks to my coach who has made me a better player and has a large share of my PFA Young Player of the Year award in 2018.

“I’ve learned a lot and I’m very proud to have been part of this journey.”
