Leon Balogun in confrontation with raging QPR fans as former Rangers star responds to boo boys

Former Rangers defender Leon Balogun has been involved in a confrontation with QPR fans after his side lost to bottom of the table Wigan Athletic.

The 34-year-old, who left Ibrox last year, was filmed speaking to the travelling support at the DW Stadium following the full-time whistle. Shaun Maloney's Wigan secured a vital win which means they are now just five points from safety, however they still sit bottom of the pile in the Championship.

QPR have 42 points and lie in 19th position but are just three points off the relegation spots in the English second tier. Max Power's sixth minute penalty was enough for Wigan to pick up the crucial three points in the relegation battle in the Championship. QPR were top of the league under Michael Beale on October 22, but two wins in 23 have seen the London club slide down the table. Gareth Ainsworth's appointment in February has failed to turn their fortunes round with five defeats in six games.

Balogun, who was making his first appearance for the west London club since November, gave away the penalty in the first half which allowed Power to stroke him from the penalty spot. Following the match Balogun approached the away support, however the gesture didn't go down well with many QPR fans hurling abuse at the former Gers centre back.
