Brendan Rodgers insists Leicester City have not made an approach to Liverpool over a summer move for Adam Lallana.
The England midfielder, 31, is set to leave Anfield this summer when his contract expires.
It was Rodgers who signed Lallana for the Reds in 2014, splashing £25million to take him to Merseyside.
The Foxes are understood to be one of a number of Premier League teams interested in taking Lallana this summer, and there have been reports that they have made contact with the player's representatives.
As Lallana is in the final six months of his deal he can negotiate freely with foreign clubs.
However, Liverpool's Premier League rivals must ask permission from the league leaders to approach the midfielder, something Rodgers insists has not happened.
"I’ve seen a lot of stuff around Adam and that we’ve approached Liverpool, which isn’t the case," said the Northern Irishman on Thursday.
"He’s at the stage of his contract where he will have options."
Last week the Foxes chief spoke of his admiration of the England midfielder.
"Adam is a fantastic player and one I brought into Liverpool," Rodgers said. "I have been aware of his talents since he was a young player at Southampton.
"He has done brilliantly [at Liverpool] and I'm sure he will be weighing up his options.
"But I don't need to speak about that now. We've spoken about that all through January. I don't need to speak about the summer transfer window.
"I would only add he is a top-class player."
Leicester face Manchester City at the weekend, and when asked about City's UEFA ban, Rodgers offered his take on Pep Guardiola's situation - and how it could benefit his side between now and the end of the campaign.
"When you’re a manager, you work with the board but you’re there to train the team," he offered.
"It will galvanise them. The players will become stronger for it.
"They will want to show they’re still talented players.
"Pep and his team will be determined to finish the season as strongly as they can."
