One of the country's longest running holiday operators has sadly closed its doors after over 60 years in business.
Joe Walsh Tours, who had an office on Lower Baggot St, Dublin 2, announced it had ceased trading on Tuesday.
The company thanked customers for their loyalty as they shut up shop for good, while directing customers looking to make a claim for money back to the Commission for Aviation Regulation (CAR).
Junior Minister Patrick O’Donovan has paid tribute after it announced it was folding.
But he defended the Government’s Covid business supports plans that he said have kept so many other businesses open.
He said: “It will be a great loss.
“That company (Joe Walsh) organised quality tours and trips for many years.
“But it needs to be recognised that from the very start of this pandemic there are a lot of businesses that have had their doors closed, but effectively open, if you know what I mean, by virtue of the interventions the Government have made.”
