Legendary Helmet Maker Launches 40th Anniversary in Honor of Jerez Circuit

Nolangroup and Carlos Checa teamed up to bring one of the most stunning designs I've ever seen from the Italian helmet manufacturer in honor of the Jerez Circuit, celebrating its 40th anniversary. Since 2018, the track has been named Ángel Nieto, in homage to the legendary Spanish rider, so collaborating with Carlos Checa to launch this one-off lid makes perfect sense.

The helmet is a special edition of the X-804 RS Ultra Carbon, which is the manufacturer's range-topping racing helmet. This version features a globe, much like the helmet Checa wore when he won the 2011 World Superbike Championship, and alongside the globe is the circuit's 40th anniversary logo.

Fans got their first glimpse of the helmet during the MotoGP event on Saturday, April 26, when Checa wore it during a lap of honor before an official presentation ceremony was held. But the celebrations took place for the entire weekend.

The one-of-a-kind helmet will eventually go on permanent display at the Jerez Circuit Museum.

Checa wasn't just chosen to show off the helmet because of his ties to Spain. Checa is a longtime Nolan brand ambassador, and his iconic 2011 design perfectly blends into the Jerez Circuit 40th anniversary logo, as though the separate designs were always meant to go together.

The one-off X-804 RS Ultra Carbon is a wonderful tribute to such a storied track, but fans got a lot more than that last weekend, as the Jerez Circuit played host to some record-breaking races. Alex Marquez won the main race on Sunday, which ensured he and brother Marc entered the history books as the first brothers to both have wins in the premier class of modern MotoGP.

Marc broke a record himself on Saturday when he became the first rider to win five sprint races in a row. Spanish fans could hardly ask for more.
