Leeds weather: Met Office warns more wintry weather is about to hit

People in Leeds are being told to expect more ice and heavy rain.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice that will be in place until 10am on Tuesday, February 25.

It says wintry showers and ice are expected to cause "hazardous" conditions and severe disruption on the roads and railways around West Yorkshire.

Cloudy conditions, light showers and temperatures of around 5°C are expected throughout the day.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Yorkshire Police are urging people to take extra care on slippery roads and pavements.

Drier conditions, slightly warmer temperatures and sunny spells are forecast for Wednesday, February 26 and the following day.

However, heavy showers are due to return on Friday, February 28.
