Leeds weather forecast as parts of Yorkshire issued rain warning

Leeds is set for a drier week after last week's torrential rain closed a major road and saw the region hit by serious weather warnings .

The Met Office has forecast a week of some showers for the city, but its yellow weather warning for rain does not include Leeds.

The forecaster has issued the alert for parts of Sheffield and areas around Huddersfield, with a warning that frequent heavy showers could cause further flooding and transport disruption.

The remaining residents in Fishlake, near Doncaster, the village as more rain is forecast.

Yesterday Doncaster Council said it will not be providing "on the ground support" in Fishlake as the advice remains for residents to evacuate.

Flooding in Leeds last week saw Gelderd Road closed in both directions, and several areas issued flood warnings - but these were lifted on Friday.
