Leeds United will be without this key midfielder for Nottingham Forest clash

Leeds United will be without one of their key midfielders for their clash with Nottingham Forest in early February.

Kalvin Phillips will miss the trip to the City Ground on February 8th after he was sent off this afternoon.

Leeds made it just one win in seven league games following defeat to QPR in the Championship's early kick-off today, losing 1-0.

And the day was made even worse for Marcelo Bielsa's men when Phillips was sent off with two minutes of normal time remainng.

Phillips put in a horror challenge on Geoff Cameron, referee Peter Bankes dispersing the subsequent melee before sending the midfielder for an early bath with a straight red card.

The red card means he will miss Leeds' next three games, ruling him out for that date with Forest in three weeks.

That game could prove important in the race for automatic promotion, too.

Today's result means Forest can move within five points of second-placed Leeds with a game in-hand still to play should they beat on Sunday.
