Leeds United U21s team news as senior stars named in strong starting XI to face Norwich City

Michael Skubala has named a number of Leeds United first-teamers as the Under-21s face their Norwich City counterparts at Thorp Arch this afternoon. The Whites got their Premier League 2 Division 2 campaign off to a fine start last time out with a 5-2 win over Derby County and the U21s boss has been given the green light to use a number of high profile players today.

Adam Forshaw and Mateusz Klich will be involved today as they look to pick up some much-needed minutes and they’ll play in the midfield alongside Sam Greenwood, who has also made the step down from Jesse Marsch’s senior ranks.

Cody Drameh starts at right-back, while Leo Hjelde has been named alongside the impressive Jeremiah Mullen in the middle of defence. Mateo Joseph scored four last time out against the Rams and he’ll be hoping to build on that this afternoon and make a real statement at Thorp Arch.

Joseph will be supported by Sonny Perkins, who scored at Pride Park and Crysencio Summerville, another making the move from the first-team in hunt of minutes.

Darko Gyabi has been named on the bench and will look to make an impact in the second half.

Leeds: Harry Christy; Cody Drameh, Keenan Carole, Jeremiah Mullen, Leo Hjelde; Adam Forshaw, Sam Greenwood; Sonny Perkins, Mateusz Klich, Crysencio Summerville; Mateo Joseph.

Bench: Will Brook, Darko Gyabi, Jack Jenkins, Kris Moore, Charlie Allen.
