Leeds United transfer rumours: Whites' £23m bid for Napoli star rejected, Emiliano Buendia hint

With the January transfer window just weeks away from opening, it could be the perfect opportunity for Leeds United to add to their squad.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have started the Premier League season well - with some fantastic victories already in their first campaign back in the top flight in 16 years.

However, the Whites have shown some vulnerabilities at times, which could tempt Bielsa into the transfer market.

With that said, today we have the very latest transfer rumours and stories that concern Leeds.

Agbonlahor tips Whites to sign left-back

Gabriel Agbonlahor has tipped Leeds to sign a natural left-back in the January transfer window, when speaking to Football Insider.

The Whites have been playing with Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas on the left side of defence so far this season - with the duo both being natural midfielders.

Agbonlahor said: “You can only get away with it for a certain amount of time when you play players out of position.

“Maybe it’s something that Bielsa looks at in January, a proper left-back that knows how to play the game. I’m sure that’s something he’ll look at."

Elmas bid rejected

Leeds have had an offer turned down by Napoli for midfielder Eljif Elmas, according to Ciro Venerato Rai.

The transfer expert is reporting that the Whites have seen a £22.7million bid rejected for the 21-year-old, as well as some other European sides.

Elmas joined the Naples-based side from Fenerbahce back in 2019 and has impressed during his time in Serie A.

Rai said: "Benfica, Leeds, the two Borussia of Germany and Leipzig. These clubs even offered 25million euros for the player, but the blue sports director did not want to hear the offer."

Buendia transfer hint

Reported Leeds target Emi Buendia's agency could have just dropped a big transfer update regarding their client's future.

Buendia was linked with a move to Elland Road over the summer, following Norwich City's relegation from the Premier League, but a deal for the Argentine never happened and he stayed at Carrow Road.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the 23-year-old and Metro have shared a potential big transfer hint, which could come as a blow for the Whites.

Twenty Two Sports Management - Buendia's representatives - replied to an Instagram direct message from a Gunners supporter, saying: "Buendia to Arsenal please", with the praying emoji, as if they also wanted the deal to be completed.
