Leeds United transfer rumours: Target 'farmed out', Cantwell's advanced talks, Casilla staying

Leeds United are still very active in the summer transfer market with just a few days remaining before the international deadline.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been busy during this period and have done everything they can in order to consolidate their spot in the Premier League.

With the Whites starting so well this season, any signings from here on will be a bonus for Leeds supporters.

Here, we have gathered the very latest transfer rumours coming out of Elland Road.

Leeds-linked player could be forced out of Spurs

Ryan Sessegnon is set to be “farmed out” of Tottenham Hotspur “in the coming days” amid links to Leeds.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a loan switch to Elland Road, as well as Celtic - who are favourites, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.

Sessegnon is frustrated with the lack of playing time he is getting under Jose Mourinho, and he is set to leave his parent club before the window closes on Monday.

The former Fulham winger was left out of Spurs’ squad in their Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea on Tuesday evening.

Cantwell in ‘advanced talks’ with Leeds

Norwich City star Todd Cantwell is in ‘advanced talks’ to sign for Leeds, according to transfer specialist Nicolo Schira.

Schira is reporting that Cantwell has already agreed personal terms with the Whites ahead of a move to the Premier League.

However, Leeds are still in talks with the Canaries over the fee for the talented playmaker - who shone at times for Daniel Farke’s side in the top-flight last season.

Schira tweeted: “Leeds are in advanced talks for Todd Cantwell. Offered €18m to Norwich. The midfielder has agreed personal terms with LUFC.”

Casilla to stay at Leeds

Leeds goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is set to stay at Elland Road beyond the end of the transfer window, according to The Athletic.

However, as revealed in the article, Illan Meslier is set to remain as Bielsa’s first-choice shot-stopper for the foreseeable future.

The future of Casilla has been uncertain this summer, after losing the number one spot to the French goalkeeper in the latter stages of last season’s Championship-winning campaign.

Meslier impressed again in the Whites’ 1-0 victory over Sheffield United last weekend.
