Leeds United transfer rumours: Crystal Palace rival for £30m star as left-back target identified

Leeds United are set for their penultimate away Premier League match of the season on Saturday as they travel to face Burnley.

The Whites have been guaranteed safety for weeks and are finishing the campaign strongly after one defeat in eight league outings.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have surpassed expectations but have a big summer ahead of them in order to keep pace with their rivals and challenge for another top-half finish.

Chief exectuive Angus Kinnear has confirmed the club will be ensuring all summer recruits meet the "benchmark" set by last summer's business, stoking up interest in Leeds summer dealings.

Palace rival for £30m West Brom ace

Crystal Palace will battle against Leeds for the signature of West Brom star Matheus Pereira this summer.

The Brazilian has impressed despite the Baggies' relegation to the Championship, with Pereira netting 10 goals and registering five assists.

According to Calciomercato, Leeds and Palace have identified the 25-year-old as a potential summer recruit, with Pereira priced at £30million.

Left-back identified

Leeds are on the lookout for a new left-back this summer with Ezgjan Alioski and Barry Douglas both out of contract.

According to Sportske Novosti and Kicker, Leeds have registered an interest in Stuttgart defender Borna Sosa.

The 23-year-old has made 24 Bundesliga appearances this season and is renowned for his attacking quality which has seen him provide 10 assists for his teammates.

The report states Leeds have a "concrete interest" in Sosa, though the Croatian is under contract until 2025.

McCalmont targeted by L1 clubs

Cheltenham Town are interested in taking Leeds youngster Alfie McCalmont on loan next season.

The midfielder spent this campaign with Oldham Athletic in League Two, scoring eight goals and registering four assists.

Cheltenham were promoted as League Two champions and Football Insider claim Michael Duff wants McCalmont to join the club for next season.
