Leeds United news with Laura Woods' cheeky 'off-air' comment after Agbonlahor relegation verdict

Here are your Leeds United evening headlines on Wednesday, April 26.

Laura Woods makes 'off-air' comment after Gabby Agbonlahor's Leeds United verdict

Laura Woods and former Premier League striker Gabby Agbonlahor have gone back and forth after the latter revealed he still thinks Leeds will be relegated at the end of the season. The Whites played out a 1-1 draw against Leicester last night, but looked to have control of the game up until the Foxes equalised late on.

Despite that, the former Aston Villa frontman still believes that Javi Gracia's side will drop into the Championship by the end of the season.

"Who’s your money on, if you really had to look at it Gabby?" Woods asked Agbonlahor on TalkSPORT this morning.

"I have Southampton bottom, then Forest, then Leeds," Agbonlahor replied. "Because I just look at Leeds, the amount of goals they concede, 63 goals, no clean sheets since 25 February, it’s been 10 games.

“Their next game is Bournemouth away, they look strong now, they know one win and they could be safe. Then it’s Man City away, Newcastle home, West Ham away, Tottenham at home – that’s three points maybe because they’ll be on the beach probably – but you look at that I don’t think they’ll get enough points…

"I think Leicester’s fixtures are more favourable than Leeds, so I’d say Leeds are down with Forest and Southampton."

"He always seems to dig it in doesn’t he?," Woods said. "It’s almost like he hates Leeds isn’t it? You told me off air you hate all Leeds fans."

Luis Sinisterra injury latest as Leeds United's Javi Gracia criticises referee call

Javi Gracia will have his fingers crossed that Luis Sinisterra recovers quickly from the knock he suffered on Tuesday night against Leicester City. Sinisterra was Leeds United’s only goalscorer on the night, putting the Whites ahead with a well-timed header in the 20th minute of the contest at Elland Road.

However, his evening was brought to a premature end just a few minutes later after being left on the ground by a heavy challenge. The winger tried to continue after receiving treatment, but he hit the deck once more in the 32nd minute before leaving the field in uncomfortable fashion, to be replaced by Crysencio Summerville.

Gracia was unable to provide a clear update on the issue after the game, insisting the medical staff will need to make further assessments before a conclusion can be reached on the Colombian’s fitness. The Spanish head coach did criticise referee Paul Tierney, though, for failing to act after the initial challenge.

Meslier love, Gnonto frustration, Skubala's gesture and Leeds United moments missed

Skubala’s gesture

Before every game at Elland Road, a small number of children gather at the bottom of the West Stand in the hope of capturing the players’ attention as they mill about on the field before the team news filters through. Tuesday night was no different, but they were luckless when it came to the first wave of first-teamers who walked back down the tunnel, seemingly unaware of the youngsters wanting pictures and autographs.

However, with the help of first-team coach Michael Skubala, the children managed to meet Wilfried Gnonto and Georginio Rutter before kick-off. Stopping to talk them himself, Skubala gestured to the pair in the centre circle before walking over and directing them to the West Stand touchline after a brief chat.

Neither man played a minute on Tuesday night but they made the day of 20-or-so kids before kick-off.
