Leeds United news as Stan Collymore predicts Manchester United swoop for 'baby' Illan Meslier

Here are your Leeds United morning headlines on Saturday, April 22.

Manchester United urged to get 'baby' Illan Meslier amid own goalkeeper woes

Former Premier League star Stan Collymore believes that Manchester United could still try and go after Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier despite the 23-year-old's poor form in recent weeks.

Erik ten Hag's side have regularly been protected by David de Gea this season but after his myriad of mistakes against Sevilla on Thursday night, it's possible they'll look elsewhere in the summer transfer window.

De Gea has been in long negotiations with Man United with his contract set to expire in the summer, meaning they could swoop in for the Frenchman who Collymore describes as a 'baby'.

"They [Manchester United] should be looking up and down the league," Collymore wrote for CaughtOffside. "I know Emi Martinez has been rumoured but I don’t know if he’s the sort of keeper that Man United would go for.

"Obviously the likes of Meslier has had a very, very difficult season at Leeds but he’s still a baby. Would he be someone they’d look to develop?"
