Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Sunday, June 5.

Jermaine Beckford tells Leeds United what to do with Kalvin Phillips amid Manchester City link

Former Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford has urged the Whites to 'fast-track' Kalvin Phillips' contract talks amid interest from the likes of Manchester City.

Phillips is reportedly a target for the Premier League champions this summer, with Pep Guardiola keen on finding a replacement for the departing Fernandinho.

But there have also been reports suggesting Phillips would be open to extending his contract at Leeds, particularly after they secured another season in the Premier League.

"He loves playing for his boyhood club but if his contract situation is not resolved relatively quickly - and I would be tempted to fast-track it through - then naturally one of the top-four teams will come in for him," Beckford told the Mirror on Sunday.

Jesse Marsch has previously worked with Minamino during their time together at Red Bull Salzburg before the Japanese winger moved to Merseyside in 2020.

And Leeds and Liverpool fans have had their say on the potential swap deal.

Last season saw Leeds battle with relegation until the final day of the season, with the Whites surviving thanks to a 2-1 win over Brentford.

And while the Premier League could be too expensive a market for the Whites, they could look towards the Championship to strengthen their squad this summer.
