Leeds United news as Chelsea centre-back linked elsewhere and hat-trick hero celebrated

Leeds United interest faces Italian test

Marcelo Bielsa's chances of securing Chelsea centre-back Fikayo Tomori on loan this January could have been lessened further by reports that AC Milan are also interested in adding the 23-year-old to their ranks.

Sky Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Tomori is a target for Milan who currently sit atop Serie A in what has been a successful campaign to date.

Romano does caveat the information by stating that Tomori is not the club's first choice however, that is Mohamed Simakan instead, meaning if Milan land their main target, Leeds could still be in the running for Tomori.

However, if it comes down to a transfers stand-off between the Whites and Milan, it is unlikely Leeds would win that battle.

Llorente U23s absence explained

Diego Llorente's absence from last weekend's FA Cup defeat to Crawley led some to believe he would feature against Burnley in the latest U23 fixture yesterday, however that was not the case.

Due to the Spaniard's colourful injury history since arriving at Elland Road, it was worried he had suffered yet another setback in training however that is reportedly not the case.

MOT Leeds News have quoted Athletic journalist Phil Hay who claims Llorente's latest absence is nothing injury-related.

“Llorente is on his way back from muscle strain but sources at Leeds say his absence at Burnley was not injury-related or down to fresh fitness concerns," Hay stated.

Summerville stuns Burnley

Leeds United U23s extended their lead atop the PL 2 Division 2 table yesterday blowing away Burnley by four goals to one.

Summer signing Crysencio Summerville netted a hat-trick for Mark Jackson's side, in what was a Man of the Match display from the teenage winger.

His performance drew plenty of praise from Leeds supporters, as well as striker Ryan Edmondson who was watching along live on Twitter.

Sam Greenwood also scored just a day after featuring against Crawley, making his senior debut in the FA Cup.
