Leeds United make two backroom team appointments as ex-Manchester United coach joins

Leeds United have confirmed duo Ewan Sharp and Pierre Barrieu have joined Jesse Marsch’s backroom staff at Elland Road.

Barrieu joins as fitness coach from Toronto FC. He has previously worked for LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer, as well as the United States national team. He has also had stints at Swansea City, Sheffield Wednesday and Le Havre.

Ewan Sharp, who was working under Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United last season, will be assistant head coach. He is formerly of New York Red Bulls and Toronto.

Frankie Schiemer is leaving his role as assistant manager on a day-to-day basis. He will work as a consultant from afar. Mark Jackson and Cameron Toshack have agreed new deals and continue at the club,
