Leeds United legend fuming at Aston Villa and the FA after decision

Former Leeds United defender Ian Harte has hit out at The FA after the controversy during the Championship game against Aston Villa last weekend.

Leeds are set to be without Patrick Bamford for two matches after he was charged by The FA for 'successful deception of a match official' after his clash with Anwar El Ghazi.

The Villa winger has seen his red card rescinded with Bamford going down without any contact.

The major EFL rule change Leeds United must be aware of ahead of Ipswich Town game

While Leeds fans were angry no further action will be taken against Villa's Conor Hourihane following an altercation with Mateusz Klich.

Harte has posted his thoughts about the failure to sanction Hourihane on social media.

He wrote: "It’s a disgrace that Villa players get away with what they did

"But Leeds United get done every time.... As a ex footballer you DONT stop until the referee says!!!"

An FA statement said: "It is alleged the Leeds United player's behaviour in the 72nd minute of the fixture, which involved committing a clear act of simulation that led to Anwar El Ghazi being dismissed, amounts to improper conduct."

If found guilty or he decides to accept the charge, the former England under-21 striker will face a two-match suspension, which would see him miss the final game of the regular season at Ipswich on Sunday and the first leg of Leeds' play-off semi-final tie.

In addition, both clubs have been charged with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in the aftermath of Leeds' goal.

They have until 6pm on Friday to respond to their respective charges.
