Leeds United latest: rival managers smell blood, Jansson doubt, Bielsa due up

Leeds United are starting another huge week in their promotion quest.

After seeing their gap to third place disappear at the weekend, Marcelo Bieslsa's men are now preparing for tomorrow's trip to Brentford in what is another massive match.

Before that, here is a look at the latest Leeds United headlines...

Rival managers smell blood

Fulham manager Scott Parker and Brentford boss Thomas Frank have given their assessment of the table after it changed complexion with Leeds United’s 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Read what they said here.

Will Jansson be for tomorrow night?

Leeds United face a huge fixture in their promotion campaign in midweek as they go away to Brentford on Tuesday evening.

Thomas Frank’s Bees would leapfrog Leeds if they can win at Griffin Park, where Leeds famously haven’t won since 1950. Marcelo Bielsa’s men come into the fixture under pressure, having lost four of the last five matches, and could fall as low as fifth with a defeat.

Leeds will be boosted by the return of Kalvin Phillips, with the influential midfield enforcer available again after serving the last of his three-match ban on Saturday, while Adam Forshaw remains the only major injury, although Tyler Roberts is a new doubt after he left the City Ground on crutches.

But how are the hosts shaping up? Here’s Brentford’s injury news ahead of the Tuesday night match.

Here's the latest.

Time for Bielsa to make changes?

Leeds United face a difficult trip to London in arguably the most difficult moment of Marcelo Bielsa’s tenure as manager.

The Whites remain in the automatic promotion positions, but only just on goal difference, having seen their once 11-point lead cut to none with two wins from the last ten matches and four defeats in five.

It’s backs against the wall time for Bielsa’s men, and now would be a great time for them to end their London and Griffin Park hoodoos. Leeds have won just one of their last 21 matches in the nation’s capital, winless in their last ten.

So is it time to makes changes?

We look at an alternative XI here.

Bielsa and U23s due up

It's going to be another busy week.

Bielsa is set to face the media at Thorp Arch at 12noon for his pre-Brentford press conference, with the under-23s then due to face Bolton at 1pm. Weather permitting, that is...

We'll have live coverage of both here on LeedsLive.
