Leeds United head queue for La Liga midfielder, Aston Villa boss eyes former striker - reports

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is interested in signing Real Sociedad midfielder Ruben Pardo this summer, according to Spanish media outlet El Gol Digital.

The Whites need just 10 points from their last four games to secure promotion to the Premier League and have already been linked with their first signing.

The versatile midfielder, 26, has been a regular figure Sociedad ever since coming through the youth ranks in 2011 and has since gone on to make over 170 appearances for the La Liga outfit.

But having made just 10 league starts this season, it is believed that Pardo could well be on his way out of the Anoeta Stadium this summer, despite his current deal running out at the end of next season.

Villa in for Maupay

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith wants to be reunited with Brentford striker Neil Maupay, should they secure promotion this season.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Villa Park, to work with former boss Smith.

According to the ExaminerLive, Villa remain firmly in the mix for the Frenchman’s signature, alongside Huddersfield Town and Middlesbrough.

Norwood wanted by the Tractor Boys

Ipswich Town have been linked with Tranmere Rovers striker James Norwood.

The League Two top scorer is out of contract this summer and could be set to spearhead the Tractor Boys’ promotion campaign next season.

The 28-year-old has also attracted interested from Burton Albion and Fleetwood Town, according to HITC reports.

Norwich City striker to move?

Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce has admitted that Jordan Rhodes’ long-term future remains up in the air.

The Owls' record buy has spent the season on loan at Norwich City but has found his game time limited due to Teemu Pukki’s goal-scoring exploits.

With Wednesday looking to cut their cloth further this summer, Bruce conceded Rhodes’ future remains unclear and confirmed the club will sit down with the Canaries to discuss their plans for the 29-year-old.
