Leeds United are eagerly awaiting a verdict on the Championship's resumption, as they look to complete their push for promotion to the Premier League.
The EFL is keen for the Championship to be concluded but there has been some opposition to the plans, most notably from Hull City.
Even if a return is approved, there are significant hurdles to overcome and one of them is the concerns that supporters could gather outside of stadiums.
As a result, reports have suggested that 'key matches' will be played at neutral venues - which would likely include Leeds United's crucial games in their promotion bid.
While the EFL stated that their preference is for matches to be played in the usual home or away format, their latest comment showed that the decision may be out of their hands.
An EFL spokesman said: “It remains our intention to play all remaining league matches at clubs’ home grounds as long as they comply with the relevant government guidelines.
“We will only seek to move matches if they are not permitted by the relevant local authority, following any representations from the local police force.”
That has led to significant criticism on social media from Leeds fans though, who flocked to a report last night suggesting neutral venues could be required to express their thoughts.
