Leeds United evening headlines as new kit 'leaked', renewed interest in Middlesbrough defender

Here are your Leeds United evening headlines for Friday, June 12.

Leeds away kit leaked

Leeds United’s away kit for the 2020/21 season has been leaked as the club prepare to switch manufacturers.

Leeds have been wearing Kappa kits since 2015 but are set to begin a new deal with Adidas in the summer.

As per FootyHeadlines.com, the new away strip will feature two different shades of blue, with a yellowish-gold Adidas three-stripe across the shoulders.

This differs significantly from Leeds’ current away jersey, which is black with pinkish-red trim on the collar and sleeves.

Luis ‘good enough’ for Real Madrid

Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis has the potential to become a star at Real Madrid, according to his former coach Joao Tralhao.

Luis’ impressive form for the Portuguese giants has attracted interest from several clubs, including Leeds, as per ESPN .

And Tralhao, who coached Luis for Benfica’s underage teams, believes the 20-year-old can go all the way to the top of the game.

“Florentino is a young player who has exceptional talent. From very early on, we realised that Florentino was on the road to becoming an elite player,” Tralhao told Bernabeu Digital .

“I remember that he was one of the pillars of the Benfica team which won the league last season, even when he was only 20 years old.

“I see Florentino as a logical option (for Real Madrid). He has a profile very similar to that of Casemiro and in Europe he is, without a doubt, one of the best in his position.”

Ayala has held talks with Leeds over summer move

Middlesbrough defender Daniel Ayala has held talks with Leeds over a summer switch to Elland Road, according to Football Insider.

Ayala, 29, is out of contract at Boro this summer and while the centre-back has been offered a new deal by the Teessiders, Leeds are encouraged by his hesitancy over putting pen to paper.

As per Football Insider’s report, Ayala is one of Leeds’ top targets, with Whites chief executive Victor Orta and head coach Marcelo Bielsa both admirers of the Spaniard.

Leeds are hoping to strengthen their defensive options in the coming months with the future of Ben White, on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, unknown beyond the current season.

Ayala, who started his English football career at Liverpool, spent three years at Norwich City before joining Boro in 2014.
