Leeds United appeal to families to help nurture the next generation

Leeds United are appealing for families to provide accommodation for the club's academy players.

The Elland Road club, like many top sides, aim to nurture the next generation of talent for the future.

But as well as development on the pitch, that comes with other commitments off it.

And to that end, the Whites are looking for host families to offer a stable and comfortable environment to youngsters as they begin their footballing journey, often away from home for the first time.

The appeal from the club read: "As a host family, you will provide our young players with a safe and comfortable ‘home from home’, for them to live and study in around their training schedule.

"Located ideally within a five-mile radius of Wetherby, West Yorkshire, lodgings should offer good quality accommodation, preferably in a family environment.

"Other requirements are the provision of a daily nutritionally balanced evening meal, occasional lunches, access to laundry facilities and wireless internet."

Families are being sought who can house a minimum of two players in separate rooms, whether for the whole season or on a short-term basis for players on trial and others.
