Leeds police dog team catches thief red-handed swiping laptop from the CPS

Officers caught a brazen thief red-handed as he swiped a laptop from - of all places - the Crown Prosecution Service office.

The West Yorkshire Police dogs team were called to the attempted burglary as their first job that night (Tuesday) and managed to catch the would-be burglar in the act.

Sharing the encounter on Twitter, they joked "Bet this one doesn't get discontinued!"

Dozens reacted on social media, with one tweet saying: "How thick could someone possibly be to steal from a court?!"

The West Yorkshire Police Dogs Twitter account posted: "When your first job of last night is a call to a burglary and you turn up and catch them red-handed coming out of the building with a laptop... and the building is the Crown Prosecution Services office ... bet this one doesn’t get discontinued!"
