Leeds hospitals haven't recorded a single coronavirus death for two weeks

Leeds has hit two weeks now - 14 whole days - without its hospitals recording a single coronavirus death.

The last fatality was recorded in the 24 hours to 5pm on July 14.

NHS England announced today (Wednesday) that another 14 people in England's hospitals had died from the virus, bringing the total number up to 29,317.

Patients were aged between 55 and 90-years-old two had no underlying health conditions.

In Yorkshire the most deaths were recorded at the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. It recorded two deaths yesterday, July 28.

Another death was also recorded at the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

It brings the total number of deaths in Yorkshire's hospitals up to 2,565.

The death toll in Leeds remains at 338, the highest of any trust in the county - eight above the total for the Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
