Lech Poznan have triggered the option to buy clause for Celtic winger Luis Palma.

The Polish side will pay £3.5m to land the Celtic forward on a permanent basis.

Palma had spent the season with Poznan, with the club holding the option to trigger a transfer clause set at £3.5m.

However, it had appeared the club would try to negotiate the fee with Celtic.

Now, though, Poznan have confirmed the signing of Palma, with the forward signing a three-year deal.

It comes after La Liga side Sevilla were linked with a surprise swoop for Palma.

Poznan club president, Karol Klimczak, spoke during the club's title celebrations to discuss Palma's future.

He said: "It's clear that we want to keep Luis Palma.

"We're working on it. We want to sign him, it's not easy, but we want to."

And Lech director, Adrian Gałuszka added: "It's no secret that Luis feels good in Poznan. He was a magician this season, put in important numbers and contributed to several important team results.

"We have to wait for the final decisions, which I suspect will be in the coming days."
