The League of Legends European Championship (LEC) Spring Split 2026 is set to begin on March 28, bringing back a fan-favorite competitive format alongside two live roadtrip events in Spain and France.
With two qualification spots for the League’s Mid-Season Invitational 2026 in South Korea on the line, teams will battle through a best-of-three regular season before entering a high-stakes playoff bracket. Following the conclusion of LEC Versus, G2 Esports secured its ticket to FST 2026, while the rest of the region now turns its attention to the Spring Split coming up next.
What is the LEC Spring Split 2026 Format?

The LEC Spring Split 2026 will once again feature a multi-game series format across both the regular season and playoffs. The regular season will run as a single round robin, where teams compete in best-of-three series across seven weeks. At the end of the stage, the top six teams will qualify for the playoffs.
Once the postseason begins, the competition shifts to a double-elimination bracket, with every series played as a Best of Five. This structure is designed to ensure the strongest teams advance, while also preparing them for the demands of international play.
The First Selection ruleset will also be active throughout the split, where instead of automatically receiving side selection, the team that earns the advantage can now choose between selecting Blue or Red side, or deciding whether to pick first or second in the draft.
The top two teams at the end of the playoffs will secure qualification for the MSI 2026, which will take place in Daejeon, South Korea.
LEC Spring Split 2026 Schedule and Playoffs

The LEC Spring Split 2026 officially kicks off on March 28 at 10:00am CT at the Riot Games Arena. Regular season matches will run Saturday through Monday, with two best-of-three series scheduled each day. During the first three weeks of the split, Saturdays will feature three series instead, with broadcasts beginning earlier at 07:00am CT.
After seven weeks of competition, teams will take a two-week break before the playoffs begin. The Spring Playoffs will start on May 23, with one best-of-five series played each day from Saturday to Monday. The lower bracket final and MSI qualification decider will take place on June 6, followed by the Spring Split Finals on June 7.
A key change this year is that Monday regular-season matches will no longer have a live audience. Riot Games said the decision comes after consistently seeing lower arena attendance on Mondays compared to weekend match days.
LEC Roadtrips return for Spring Split 2026
Two special LEC Roadtrip events will take place during the regular season, bringing the competition directly to fans in Spain and France.
The first roadtrip will be hosted by Movistar KOI at the Madrid Arena, while the second will be organized by Karmine Corp at Les Arènes de Grand Paris Sud–Evry-Courcouronnes. Each roadtrip will run from Friday to Sunday, allowing fans to attend three consecutive days of live matches and community celebrations centered around the LEC.
Further details, including dates and ticket information, will be announced closer to the roadtrip.
