LeBron James says Kyle Kuzma ‘showed why’ he can be a great piece for Lakers

LeBron James believes the Los Angeles Lakers showed a different dimension to their greatness in Tuesday night’s victory over the Chicago Bulls, thanks to a big performance in the 4th quarter from third year forward Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma scored 11 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter when the Lakers outscored the Bulls 38-19.

James himself was spectacular, racking up his third straight triple-double while also scoring 30 points on the evening. But as good as James was all throughout the night, he understood that he couldn’t have made it to the Lakers sixth straight victory without a considerable amount of help on Tuesday.

Kuzma’s strong play in the fourth quarter, combined with some timely shots from Quinn Cook and the once-again strong defense of Dwight Howard helped give LeBron’s third straight triple-double even more value. And following the loss of the Miami Heat to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers officially have the best record in the NBA.

In addition to James pushing the Lakers to the NBA’s best record, he also became the first Laker in 32 years to have three straight triple-doubles. Up next for the Lakers is an opportunity to send a message to ghosts of Lakers past when they host Pat Riley’s Miami Heat.
