LeBron James and Maverick Carter producing MyCareer NBA 2K20 story

After producing game shows, dramas, documentaries, movies and other television events, LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment will now try their hand at another form of content: video games.

The iconic video game franchise NBA 2K recently released a trailer for the latest version of their game NBA 2K20 and the story arc that players will follow on the game’s MyCareer mode. It’s often produced like a movie, following a player on their journey to make it in the NBA and this year’s version was created in association with SpringHill. It will also feature LeBron James as a character in the story.

SpringHill already has extensive experience telling the stories of athletes, either in documentaries such as “Student-Athlete” for HBO or the scripted show “Survivor’s Remorse” on Starz that followed a player and his family’s journey through professional basketball.

The MyCareer mode has often featured other celebrities as they’ve invested more in creating a dramatic feel to the game. However, they obviously felt the need to spice things up and call in people who have experience telling stories like these in other avenues outside of the video game realm. And for SpringHill, the collaboration gives them unique opportunity to add to an already extensive content portfolio.
