LeBron James and Lakers scheduled to fly to Disney World today

After months of speculation, planning, and consternation, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are making their way to the Walt Disney World on Thursday, where they are hoping to stay for the next four months, as they look to bring home the franchise’s 17th championship banner.

The Lakers and the rest of the teams that have yet to arrive at their Walt Disney World hotels are expected to arrive between today and tomorrow. The Lakers are scheduled to leave Thursday and their first practice is scheduled for 5 p.m. local time in Florida. The Lakers will be staying at the Gran Destino hotel with the Clippers, Bucks, and other top teams.

While there have been rumors that the Lakers have been having group workouts at secret locations, the practices in Orlando will be the first officially sanctioned group workouts for the NBA teams who are being asked to finish the season.

But prior to the start of their training camp, players will have to quarantine for 24-36 hours and register two negative coronavirus tests before they will be cleared to participate.
