Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar to retain bungalow

MUMBAI: The state government has allowed Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar to retain Devgiri bungalow at Malabar Hill as his official residence. As deputy chief minister in the previous government, Pawar had occupied the same bungalow.

In an order issued on Tuesday, the government said that although Devgiri bungalow is generally alloted to Deputy CM or a senior minister, the state government has decided to allow Pawar to retain it. The order also states that this decision will not become a precedence. Devgiri has been Pawar's official residence ever since he became the minister for the first time in 1999, barring the five-year span (2014 to 2019) when it was occupied by the then finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.
